HOW SOCIAL DIALOGUE CAN SHAPE THE FUTURE OF URBAN PUBLIC TRANSPORT?

The first UITP-ETF Workshop of the 'Social dialogue in the urban public transport sector in specific Central & Eastern European countries' took place on 2-3 October in Sofia. The objective of the workshop was to exchange information on employment and industrial relations in the public transport industry and the discuss the activities of European social dialogue. During the workshop, good practices on promoting women's employment in the sector and on tackling insecurity and the feeling of insecurity of passengers and workers were identified. The participants were also invited to share their vision on employment in urban public transport for the future with the social partners in Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia.

Within the overall European project two other workshops will be organised:

  • in Prague, covering Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania - 6-7 November 2018
  • in Warsaw, covering Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia - 30-31 January 2019.
