MPK Poznań has long relied on a systematic modernisation of our fleet. This year, deliveries of 50 low-floor Moderus Gamma trams and 37 state-of-the-art buses that meet the very strict Euro6 emissions standard will start, and the company is now launching a tender for zero-emission electric buses.
MPK Poznań is one of the leaders in Poland when it comes to using new, environmentally friendly solutions and technologies - notes Wojciech Tulibacki, President of the Management Board of MPK Poznań Sp. z o.o. - that is why the company focuses our attention on electro-mobility and that is why the company decided to purchase emission-free buses with electric drive.
The subject of order, which will be divided into two tasks, will be a total of 21 vehicles, which will meet the highest European safety standards. These will be low-floor buses, friendly for the handicapped and people with prams, with internal and external monitoring system, which affects the driving safety, with air conditioning and sliding door step-by-step, which guarantees a wider and easier entrance and smooth exchange of passengers.
There are many solutions in these buses, which have become standard in the subsequent tenders for some time now - points Marek Grzybowski, deputy president for technical matters - air conditioning and monitoring system, energy-efficient lighting in LED technology, additional space for a pram, space for safe bicycle transportation, internal and external passenger information boards made with energy-saving technology - these are just some of them. However the use of an electric drive is an absolute novelty. When MPK Poznań decides to supply electric vehicles, the company indicates the importance of clean air for us.
