Successful pilot training programme in Warsaw paves the way for next editions.
As part of the development of the activities of the UITP Centre for Training, a new programme on electric buses has been designed on basis of the experience gathered with the EU funded ZeEUS project. A first pilot edition has taken place in Warsaw on 7-8 April and given its success, the UITP Centre for Training is pleased to announce the launch of a second longer edition to take place on 26-28 September 2016 in Geneva!
Moderated and taught by trainers with high levels of expertise and diverse professional backgrounds, the training module offers a comprehensive overview of all implications from strategic considerations, the assessment of financial benefits, performance measurement and the direct impact and challenges at operational and technical levels. The involvement of the industry allows a deep yet inclusive insight and understanding of the available technology today, while operators are providing a first return on experience on the implications in terms operations, auxiliary and infrastructure management. Dynamic workshops allow participants to work on the use of KPIs to measure the performance of their systems and to exchange on decision making and project management at tactical levels.
The Warsaw edition, kindly hosted by the local bus operator MZA, included a site visit to their new electric buses which are already in operations, while the upcoming Geneva edition includes a visit and discovery of TPG’s TOSA bus and its electric “flash” recharging.
Our enthusiastic trainers in Warsaw came from TMB Barcelona, Transdev, Solaris, Thinkstep, VTT, MZA, Transport & Travel Research and UITP. And for the Geneva edition, our equally enthusiastic and inspiring trainers will be announced soon on our website!
